New York Design Center, "Cecil Beaton and the 1930's," Sept 15, 2011 - Oct 15, 2011

The New York Design Center, the Museum of the City of New York, and 1stdibs held an evening of high style to celebrate the opening of Cecil Beaton and the 1930's. The Beaton pop-up exhibition is on display through October 15, 2011 at 1stdibs@NYDC, and previews the exhibit Cecil Beaton: The New York Years showing at the Museum of the City of New York.
Guests enjoyed champagne and delicate hors d'oeuvres as they viewed a selection of Cecil Beaton's images and evening gowns created by Chanel, Schiaparelli, and other designers whose work Beaton photographed in the 1930's.

Ken Allen Studios produced the six large format mounted photographs for the exhibit. The digital files of the vintage Beaton images came from a variety of sources. Ken Allen Studios adjusted the images to have a homogeneous feel, and replicated the subtle gold hue of a sample vintage fine art print.
